Need to add new services, expand contract value, or adjust pricing for an existing AWS Marketplace customer? Agreement-Based Offers (ABOs) are the key.
An ABO allows you to modify an active AWS Marketplace contract mid-term, giving you flexibility to adapt deals as customer needs evolve — without waiting for the current contract to expire.
ABOs are ideal in scenarios such as:
Adding additional products or services to an existing contract
Expanding contract value due to customer growth
Early renewals with new pricing or extended terms
Follow these steps to build and submit an Agreement-Based Offer directly from your Clazar dashboard:
Go to the Private Offers tab in Clazar
Click “Add Offer”, then select “Agreement-Based Offer” from the dropdown
Enter your customer’s AWS Account ID
Click “Get All” to fetch existing contracts tied to that account
Choose the contract you want to modify
Configure the new terms:
🔁 Updated end date (if extending the term)
💰 New pricing (only include the additional amount for price increases)
📆 New payment schedule
Review everything carefully and submit the offer
Before you proceed, keep these important notes in mind:
✅ Once accepted, ABOs completely replace the previous contract terms
📈 For price increases, only include the incremental amount in the ABO — not the full contract value. Important: If modifying usage dimension pricing for an offer where the customer has already been invoiced, set the contract value to $0 to avoid generating additional invoices. Only update the usage dimension pricing in the new offer.
🧾 If there are unpaid installments from the current contract, ensure they are properly included or carried forward
🔄 ABOs can only modify contracts under the same AWS listing — you cannot switch products using an ABO
❌ If you want to terminate a contract instead of modifying it, you must submit a cancellation request via AWS Support
